Winter weather impacts certain regions of Canada

Affected areas

Severe winter weather is creating hazardous driving conditions and transportation challenges across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Heavy snowfall of up to 35 cm and 80 km/h wind gusts are resulting in near-zero visibility in Saskatchewan, while Manitoba is seeing accumulations up to 30 cm. In southern regions, rain is transitioning to freezing rain and icy surfaces, further complicating travel through Thursday morning.

Extreme cold warnings also remain in effect in Alberta with wind chills near -40°C. These combined conditions are making travel difficult and may cause delivery delays for shipments moving within, to, and from the Prairie provinces.
